Installation

Check Your Mount Before You Check Out

Your boat's transom determines how your shallow water anchor is installed. Some boats can mount directly, while others require a mounting bracket. Use the guide below to make sure you have everything you need before checkout.

  • Direct Mount Compatible

    Flat Transom

For boats with a flat transom, free from trim tab or outboard motor interference, and interior access, your anchor can mount directly to the boat with the included sturdy mounting plate — no additional mounting bracket required.

  • Mounting Bracket Required

    Curved or Shaped Transom

If your transom is curved, stepped, or lacks sufficient mounting space, you'll need a mounting bracket for proper installation.

  • Jack Plate Mount Recommended

    Existing Jack Plate

Boats already equipped with a jack plate should use the jack plate mounting bracket for a clean installation that preserves the transom.

  • Pontoon Mount Required

    Pontoon or Deck Boat

Pontoon and deck boats require the pontoon mounting bracket for proper positioning and performance.

Axis 8' — Common Questions

The Axis 8' is rated for boats up to 26 feet and 4,500 lbs. It is built for standard-transom bay boats, flats boats, and center-console rigs in that range. For low-profile aluminum skiffs or small bass boats with transom heights under approximately 20 inches, the Axis 6' is typically the better fit — same motor, shorter pole.
