From Real Anglers

On the Water

  • “Coming from the pumps and everything else we're used to having in the back of our boats, to all-electric anchors — not having to worry about oil spilling out or a pump going out or anything like that. These all-electric anchors work flawlessly.”

    Jesse
  • “Just being able to cruise in somewhere and not have to run your trolling motor, be a whole lot more stealthy, and keep the fish to where they don't know where you're at — we couldn't do it without them.”

    Luke
  • “It really helps me just stay in one spot. If I get a bite, I put my shallow water anchors down and get the same fish to bite again just because those anchors keep me in the same spot — and they're awesome.”

    RJ
  • “It helps you position your boat so you don't get blown around, and they're very quiet so you don't spook away some fish that are highly pressured.”

    Peyton
  • “I didn't have any for the last four years, and I just put them on for this tournament, and it's a whole different world for me.”

    Jackson
  • “They are electric shallow water anchors, so they are quiet, and you can sneak up on the fish by dropping the poles, anchoring you down in place so you don't come up on them too fast.”

    Caleb
  • “It gives you stability. If you cast on a dock and you miss a fish, you can pole down, stay right there, hold your position, and cast back in there.”

Installation

Check Your Mount Before You Check Out

Your boat's transom determines how your Lewmar Axis shallow water anchor is installed. Some boats can mount directly, while others require a mounting bracket. Use the guide below to make sure you have everything you need before checkout.

Lewmar Axis Shallow Water Anchor
  • Direct Mount Compatible

    Flat Transom

For boats with a flat transom, free from trim tab or outboard motor interference, and interior access, your anchor can mount directly to the boat with the included sturdy mounting plate — no additional mounting bracket required.

  • Mounting Bracket Required

    Curved or Shaped Transom

If your transom is curved, stepped, or lacks sufficient mounting space, you'll need a mounting bracket for proper installation.

  • Jack Plate Mount Recommended

    Existing Jack Plate

Boats already equipped with a jack plate should use the jack plate mounting bracket for a clean installation that preserves the transom.

Lewmar Axis — Common Questions

The Axis 8' electric shallow water anchor is rated for boats up to 26 feet and 4,500 lbs. It is built for standard-transom bay boats, flats boats, and center-console rigs in that range. For low-profile aluminum skiffs or small bass boats with transom heights under approximately 20 inches, the Axis 6' is typically the better fit — same motor, shorter pole.
